How to Use
- Ensure the patient's skin is clean and dry.
- Apply a stockinette and adequate cast padding to protect the skin and bony prominences.
- Wear protective gloves during application.
- Submerge the DELTACAST ELITE tape roll in water at approximately 21-24°C (70-75°F) for 5-10 seconds.
- Squeeze the roll gently to remove excess water.
- Apply the tape spirally over the limb, ensuring each layer overlaps by approximately one-half to two-thirds the width of the tape.
- Smooth and mold the cast with your hands to achieve the desired shape and ensure proper lamination.
- Allow the cast to set completely (typically within 3-5 minutes for handling, full weight-bearing after 24 hours).
Caution & Warnings
- For use by trained medical professionals only.
- Always use a stockinette and sufficient padding underneath the casting tape to protect the skin.
- Avoid applying the cast too tightly, as this can lead to circulatory impairment or nerve compression.
- Monitor the patient closely for signs of discomfort, swelling, color changes, or numbness after application.
- Do not apply directly to open wounds or compromised skin.
- Store unused rolls in their sealed packaging in a cool, dry place.
