How to Use
- Ensure the skin is clean, dry, and protected with appropriate stockinette and cast padding.
- Wear protective gloves during application as the resin is adhesive.
- Immerse the DELTACAST ELITE tape in lukewarm water (21-24°C) for approximately 5-10 seconds, squeezing gently to remove excess water.
- Apply the tape smoothly and evenly over the padded area, overlapping each layer by approximately one-half to two-thirds the width of the tape.
- Mold the cast to the contour of the limb, ensuring proper anatomical alignment and immobilization.
- Allow the cast to fully cure. Initial set occurs within 3-5 minutes, with full weight-bearing strength typically achieved within 20-30 minutes.
Caution & Warnings
- Always use with appropriate padding and stockinette to prevent skin irritation or pressure sores.
- Ensure proper ventilation during application due to resin fumes.
- Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes; use protective gloves and eyewear.
- Do not overtighten the cast, as this can lead to circulatory impairment or nerve damage.
- Monitor the patient for signs of discomfort, swelling, numbness, or changes in skin color immediately after application and advise them to seek medical attention if these occur.
- Store in a cool, dry place, sealed in its original packaging to prevent premature curing.
