How To Use

1. Prepare the Limb: Ensure the patient's skin is clean, dry, and free from wounds or irritation. Apply a suitable stockinette and sufficient padding (e.g., DELTA-DRY Padding) to protect the skin beneath the cast.
2. Wear Protective Gloves: Always wear appropriate medical gloves before handling DELTACAST SOFT casting tape, as the resin is water-activated.
3. Activate the Tape: Immerse the entire roll of DELTACAST SOFT in lukewarm water (approximately 21-24°C) for 5 to 10 seconds. Gently squeeze the roll while submerged to ensure thorough water penetration.
4. Apply the Cast: Remove excess water from the tape. Begin wrapping the tape smoothly and evenly around the affected limb, working distally to proximally. Overlap each layer by approximately one-half to two-thirds the width of the tape. Mold the cast continuously to achieve the desired shape and ensure proper immobilization.
5. Allow to Set: The cast will begin to set quickly, becoming tack-free within 3 to 5 minutes. Functional strength is typically achieved in about 20 to 30 minutes. Advise the patient that full weight-bearing, if indicated, should only commence after 24 hours to ensure maximum cast strength.
