How to Use
- Prepare the Limb: Ensure the skin is clean and dry. Apply appropriate stockinette and orthopedic padding to protect the skin and bony prominences.
- Activate the Tape: Submerge the DELTALITE PLUS casting tape roll in room temperature water (21-24°C) for 5-10 seconds, squeezing gently to ensure complete saturation.
- Apply the Cast: Remove the tape from water, squeeze out excess water, and apply immediately. Wrap the tape spirally around the limb, overlapping each layer by approximately one-half to two-thirds the width of the tape.
- Mold and Smooth: Mold the cast to the desired contour within 3-5 minutes of application, ensuring a snug but not overly tight fit. Smooth out any wrinkles or uneven surfaces.
- Allow to Set: The cast will be rigid enough for weight-bearing (if indicated) in approximately 20-30 minutes, with full weight-bearing strength achieved within 24 hours.
- Remove with Care: Once healing is complete, the cast can be safely removed using a cast saw.
Caution & Warnings
- Wear protective gloves during application to prevent skin irritation from the resin.
- Avoid direct contact of uncured resin with skin or clothing.
- Ensure adequate ventilation in the application area.
- Do not apply too tightly, as this can impair circulation; monitor for signs of circulatory compromise.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- If skin irritation or allergic reaction occurs, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.
