Euro-Flow Cannula (Size 14) - Precision and Safety for Vascular Access

The Euro-Flow Cannula (Size 14) is an advanced sterile, single-use intravenous catheter designed for efficient and safe vascular access in various medical settings. Manufactured by Euromed, a trusted name in medical supplies, this cannula adheres to high-quality standards, ensuring reliability and patient comfort during procedures.

This catheter is particularly ideal for rapid fluid delivery, blood transfusion, and the efficient administration of medications, especially in emergency situations where quick access is crucial. Its distinguished orange color-coded hub provides immediate identification of the 14-gauge size, minimizing errors and streamlining clinical workflows.

Key Benefits:

  • **Efficient Vascular Access:** Designed for smooth and rapid insertion, facilitating quick intravenous therapy.
  • **Optimal Flow Rate:** The 14-gauge size allows for high flow rates, critical for rapid fluid resuscitation and blood product administration.
  • **Sterile and Single-Use:** Each cannula is individually packed and sterile, ensuring maximum hygiene and preventing cross-contamination.
  • **Color-Coded for Safety:** The bright orange hub visually indicates the 14G size, aiding medical professionals in quick and accurate selection.
  • **Patient Comfort:** Features a sharp needle and smooth catheter material to minimize patient discomfort during insertion.
  • **High-Quality Construction:** Made from medical-grade materials, ensuring durability and safety during use.

How to Use:

  1. **Preparation:** Gather all necessary equipment, including the Euro-Flow Cannula (Size 14), antiseptic wipes, tourniquet, sterile dressing, and disposal container. Wash hands thoroughly and don sterile gloves.
  2. **Site Selection:** Select an appropriate vein, typically in the arm, and apply a tourniquet proximal to the intended insertion site to engorge the vein.
  3. **Skin Disinfection:** Cleanse the skin over the chosen vein with an antiseptic solution according to standard protocol and allow it to air dry completely.
  4. **Cannula Insertion:** With the bevel of the needle facing upwards, insert the cannula directly into the vein at an appropriate angle (typically 10-30 degrees). Observe for flashback of blood in the flashback chamber.
  5. **Catheter Advancement:** Once flashback is confirmed, slightly lower the angle and advance the catheter a few more millimeters to ensure it's well within the vein. Then, gently thread the flexible catheter into the vein while slowly withdrawing the needle stylet.
  6. **Needle Withdrawal and Safety:** Once the catheter is fully advanced and the needle is completely withdrawn, activate the needle's safety mechanism (if present) and immediately dispose of the needle in a sharps container.
  7. **Secure and Dress:** Release the tourniquet, connect the appropriate IV line, and secure the cannula in place with a sterile transparent dressing and medical tape.
  8. **Documentation:** Document the procedure, including date, time, cannula size, insertion site, and any patient reactions.

Caution & Warnings:

  • **Single Use Only:** This device is designed for single use only. Do not re-sterilize or reuse, as it may lead to infection or injury.
  • **Sterility:** Do not use if the sterile packaging is opened, damaged, or compromised. Inspect the package before use.
  • **Trained Professionals:** Use of this product should be restricted to trained medical professionals under proper medical supervision.
  • **Disposal:** Dispose of the cannula and all associated waste materials properly in designated sharps and medical waste containers according to local regulations.
  • **Storage:** Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • **Hypersensitivity:** Discontinue use if allergic reactions or complications occur and consult a healthcare professional.
