How to Use

The insertion and removal of a Foley catheter should always be performed by a trained healthcare professional.

1. Ensure the patient is in a comfortable and appropriate position.
2. Perform thorough hand hygiene and don sterile gloves.
3. Cleanse the periurethral area with an antiseptic solution according to standard protocol.
4. Apply a generous amount of sterile lubricating gel to the catheter tip.
5. Gently insert the catheter into the urethra until urine flow is observed.
6. Once urine flow is established, advance the catheter a few more centimeters to ensure the balloon is fully within the bladder.
7. Inflate the balloon with sterile water using the designated port, according to the recommended volume printed on the catheter.
8. Gently withdraw the catheter until resistance is felt, indicating the balloon is securely seated against the bladder neck.
9. Connect the catheter to a sterile drainage bag system.
10. Secure the catheter to the patient's thigh to prevent traction and irritation.

• For single use only. Do not re-sterilize or reuse.
• Do not inflate the retention balloon with air. Use only sterile water or saline.
• Inflation of the retention balloon prior to the catheter being fully inserted into the bladder may cause injury to the urethra.
