The Euro-Trach Tracheal Tube with Cuff (Size 5.5 mm) is a sterile, single-use medical device designed for secure airway management and mechanical ventilation. It features a soft, high-volume, low-pressure cuff for an effective tracheal seal while minimizing trauma. Made from medical-grade PVC with a radiopaque line, it ensures precise placement and patient comfort. This essential device is intended for use by trained medical professionals in critical care settings.

The Euromed Tracheal Tube with Cuff (Size 5.5 mm) is a critical, sterile, single-use medical device engineered for precise and secure airway management and mechanical ventilation. Designed for use in demanding clinical environments, it establishes and maintains a clear airway for patients requiring respiratory support.

Crafted from high-quality, medical-grade polyvinyl chloride (PVC), this tracheal tube ensures patient comfort and minimizes tissue irritation during intubation. Its most distinctive feature is the soft, high-volume, low-pressure cuff, which creates an effective tracheal seal. This design not only prevents air leakage but also significantly reduces the risk of tracheal trauma often associated with higher cuff pressures.

A crucial integrated radiopaque line runs the length of the tube, allowing for accurate and immediate verification of placement via X-ray imaging. This feature is indispensable for ensuring optimal positioning within the trachea, thereby enhancing patient safety and treatment efficacy.

Benefits of Use

  • Ensures Secure Airway Management by providing a patent and stable respiratory pathway.
  • Features an Effective Tracheal Seal with a high-volume, low-pressure cuff, reducing the risk of aspiration and air leakage while minimizing tracheal wall damage.
  • Facilitates Precise Placement Verification through an embedded radiopaque line, allowing for accurate positioning confirmation via X-ray.
  • Offers Enhanced Patient Comfort due to its soft, medical-grade PVC construction and optimized cuff design.
  • Promotes Reduced Risk of Infection as a sterile, single-use device, adhering to strict hygiene standards.
  • Designed for Reliable Mechanical Ventilation support in critical care and surgical settings.

How to Use

  1. Patient Preparation: Ensure the patient is appropriately positioned and pre-oxygenated. Have all necessary equipment, including a laryngoscope, suction, and cuff inflator, readily available.
  2. Tube Inspection: Carefully remove the sterile tube from its packaging. Inspect for any damage and confirm the cuff inflates and deflates properly without leaks.
  3. Intubation: Under direct visualization with a laryngoscope, gently insert the Euromed Tracheal Tube through the vocal cords into the trachea to the appropriate depth.
  4. Cuff Inflation: Inflate the cuff with the minimum volume of air required to achieve an effective seal, using a pressure manometer to monitor cuff pressure (typically 20-30 cmH2O).
  5. Placement Verification: Confirm correct tube placement immediately using multiple methods, including auscultation of bilateral breath sounds, end-tidal CO2 detection, and chest X-ray to visualize the radiopaque line.
  6. Securing the Tube: Once placement is confirmed, secure the tracheal tube firmly to the patient's face or head using an appropriate tube holder or tape to prevent accidental dislodgement.
  7. Ongoing Monitoring: Continuously monitor the patient's respiratory status and regularly check cuff pressure.

Cautions & Warnings

  • Professional Use Only: This device is intended for use only by trained medical professionals skilled in intubation techniques.
  • Sterility: Do not use if the sterile packaging is opened or damaged.
  • Single-Use: This is a single-use device. Do not re-sterilize or reuse, as this may compromise sterility and device integrity, leading to patient harm.
  • Cuff Pressure Monitoring: Excessive cuff pressure can cause tracheal ischemia and necrosis. Always monitor cuff pressure to maintain it within recommended physiological limits.
  • Placement Verification: Always verify proper tube placement immediately after insertion and periodically thereafter to prevent complications such as esophageal intubation or bronchial intubation.
  • Disposal: Dispose of the used device and all associated waste according to hospital protocols and local hazardous waste regulations.
  • Latex-Free: The device is latex-free to minimize allergic reactions, but always confirm with packaging.

Ingredients / Materials

  • Medical-Grade Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC): Provides flexibility, biocompatibility, and clarity.
  • Radiopaque Line: Embedded within the tube wall for X-ray visibility, facilitating accurate placement confirmation.
  • Latex-Free Components: Ensures safety for patients with latex allergies.
