How to Use:

1. Ensure the skin area requiring immobilization is clean and dry.
2. Apply appropriate skin protection, such as a stockinette and cotton padding, to prevent direct contact with the plaster and provide cushioning.
3. Immerse the GYPSONA Plaster of Paris Slab in lukewarm water (approximately 20-25°C) until air bubbles cease to appear.
4. Gently squeeze the slab to remove excess water, ensuring it remains pliable.
5. Apply the plaster slab smoothly over the padded limb, molding it to the desired shape and contour.
6. Smooth out any wrinkles or air pockets to ensure uniform contact and a strong, even cast.
7. Allow the cast to set completely. The setting time will vary based on water temperature and plaster thickness; monitor the patient and cast for signs of hardening.
8. Instruct the patient on post-application care, including avoiding weight-bearing until fully set and monitoring for discomfort or circulation issues.

Caution & Warnings:

• Always use appropriate padding between the plaster and the skin to prevent burns (due to the exothermic reaction during setting) and skin irritation.
• Monitor the patient closely for signs of neurovascular compromise, such as severe pain, numbness, tingling, coldness, or changes in skin color, especially after cast application.
