Angeltouch I.V. Cannula 16G: Optimal Intravenous Access for Critical Care

The Angeltouch I.V. Cannula 16G is a high-quality, sterile medical device designed for establishing secure and efficient intravenous access. This robust 16-gauge cannula is particularly suited for situations requiring rapid fluid infusion, such as resuscitation, and for the administration of blood products or highly viscous medications.

Engineered for patient comfort and clinician ease of use, it features a sharp, precision-ground needle for smooth venipuncture, minimizing patient discomfort during insertion. The integrated flexible wings provide stable fixation once in place, preventing accidental dislodgement and ensuring the cannula remains secure throughout the infusion period. Ideal for emergency departments, operating theaters, and intensive care units, the Angeltouch I.V. Cannula 16G supports critical care interventions by facilitating reliable vascular access.

Benefits of Use:

  • Rapid Fluid Delivery: The large 16-gauge lumen allows for fast flow rates, crucial for emergency fluid resuscitation and rapid drug administration.
  • Efficient Blood Transfusions: Minimizes shear stress on blood cells during transfusions due to its wider diameter, ensuring integrity.
  • Smooth Insertion: Features a sharp, siliconized needle tip for easy and less painful venipuncture.
  • Secure Fixation: Flexible wings provide stable and comfortable attachment to the patient's skin, reducing movement and complication risk.
  • Patient Comfort: Designed with materials that are gentle on the vein, promoting longer dwell times and reducing irritation.
  • Sterile & Single-Use: Each cannula is individually packed and sterilized, ensuring maximum safety and preventing cross-contamination.

How to Use:

  1. 1. Prepare the Site: Select an appropriate vein. Cleanse the skin thoroughly with an antiseptic solution and allow it to air dry.
  2. 2. Apply Tourniquet: Place a tourniquet proximal to the insertion site to distend the vein.
  3. 3. Insert the Cannula: With the bevel up, gently insert the needle and cannula into the vein. Observe for a flashback of blood in the flashback chamber, indicating successful venipuncture.
  4. 4. Advance and Withdraw: Lower the angle and advance the cannula a few millimeters further into the vein. Carefully withdraw the needle while simultaneously advancing the plastic cannula into the vein until the hub is flush with the skin.
  5. 5. Secure and Dress: Release the tourniquet. Attach an appropriate infusion set or extension tubing. Secure the wings of the cannula with medical tape or a sterile dressing.
  6. 6. Confirm Patency: Flush the cannula with saline to confirm patency and absence of extravasation.
  7. 7. Dispose Safely: Immediately dispose of the needle in an approved sharps container.

Caution & Warnings:

  • Sterility Compromised: Do not use if the sterile packaging is damaged or opened.
  • Single-Use Only: This device is intended for single use only. Do not re-sterilize or reuse.

  • Proper Disposal: Dispose of used cannulas and needles in accordance with local regulations for sharps and medical waste.
  • Storage: Store at room temperature in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
