How to Use Angeltouch I.V. Cannula 20G

  1. Prepare Site: Cleanse the venipuncture site thoroughly with an antiseptic solution and allow it to air dry.
  2. Tourniquet Application: Apply a tourniquet proximal to the intended insertion site to engorge the vein.
  3. Grip Cannula: Hold the cannula by the hub with the bevel of the needle facing upwards.
  4. Insert Needle: Puncture the skin and vein at an appropriate angle (typically 10-30 degrees), observing for flashback in the chamber.
  5. Advance Catheter: Once flashback is seen, lower the angle and advance the catheter a few millimeters further into the vein.
  6. Withdraw Needle: Carefully withdraw the needle while simultaneously advancing the plastic catheter fully into the vein. Activate the safety mechanism if present.
  7. Secure & Dress: Remove the tourniquet, connect the desired line (e.g., infusion set), and secure the cannula with appropriate dressings and tape.
