Product Details

The ANGIPLAST IV Cannula 20G is an essential tool in modern medical practice, providing a crucial pathway for direct access to the bloodstream. Manufactured under strict quality controls, each cannula is sterilized and individually packed to maintain aseptic conditions until the point of use. The design incorporates a sharp, siliconized needle for easy penetration and a radiopaque catheter for clear visibility under X-ray, ensuring precise placement. Its color-coded hub adheres to international standards, simplifying identification of the cannula gauge. This product is latex-free, minimizing the risk of allergic reactions in sensitive patients.

Benefits of Use

  • Reliable Intravenous Access: Facilitates consistent and secure access for fluid therapy, medication delivery, and blood collection.

  • Patient Comfort: Features a smooth, siliconized needle and a flexible catheter, reducing pain and tissue trauma during insertion and dwell time.

  • Secure Fixation: Ergonomically designed flexible wings provide stable anchoring, preventing inadvertent removal and enhancing patient safety.

  • High Visibility: Radiopaque catheter ensures accurate positioning can be confirmed via X-ray imaging.

  • Sterile & Safe: Each cannula is gamma sterilized and individually packed, ensuring maximum hygiene and minimizing infection risk.

  • User-Friendly Design: Color-coded hub (pink for 20G) allows for quick and easy identification of the appropriate gauge.

  • Versatile Application: Suitable for a broad spectrum of medical procedures requiring general adult IV therapy.

How to Use

  1. Preparation: Gather all necessary equipment, including antiseptic wipes, tourniquet, medical tape, and a sterile dressing. Wash hands thoroughly and don appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

  2. Patient Assessment & Site Selection: Assess the patient's veins and select an appropriate venipuncture site. Apply a tourniquet above the chosen site.

  3. Aseptic Technique: Cleanse the venipuncture site thoroughly with an antiseptic solution according to institutional protocol and allow it to air dry completely.

  4. Insertion: Remove the cannula from its sterile packaging. With the bevel up, gently insert the needle and catheter into the vein at an appropriate angle until a flashback of blood is observed in the flashback chamber.

  5. Advancement & Withdrawal: Once flashback is seen, advance the catheter slightly further into the vein while slowly withdrawing the needle. Engage any safety mechanism on the needle if present.

  6. Secure & Dress: Apply pressure above the insertion site to occlude the vein, then fully withdraw the needle. Immediately dispose of the needle in a sharps container. Secure the catheter with medical tape and apply a sterile transparent dressing over the insertion site.

  7. Flush & Monitor: Flush the cannula with an appropriate saline solution to ensure patency. Monitor the site for any signs of infiltration or phlebitis.
