Angiplast IV Cannula 22G (100 Pcs Box) - For Secure Intravenous Access

The Angiplast IV Cannula 22G is a high-quality, sterile medical device meticulously designed for establishing and maintaining secure intravenous access. This essential tool is widely utilized in healthcare settings for efficient fluid administration, precise medication delivery, and accurate blood sampling procedures. Crafted with patient comfort and clinical efficacy in mind, it ensures a smooth insertion process and stable placement throughout its use.

Each box contains 100 individual cannulas, providing a reliable and ample supply for medical professionals in hospitals, clinics, and emergency care units. The 22G gauge (blue hub) is a commonly preferred size for a variety of clinical applications, balancing flow rate with venous comfort.

Key Benefits:

  • Secure Intravenous Access: Engineered for dependable and safe venous cannulation, crucial for critical medical interventions.
  • Smooth Insertion: Features a sharp, siliconized needle and a tapered tip to minimize patient discomfort during insertion.
  • Patient Comfort: The flexible catheter material adapts to the vein, reducing the risk of phlebitis and enhancing patient tolerance.
  • Stable Placement: Equipped with flexible, ergonomic wings that facilitate easy handling, secure fixation, and prevent accidental dislodgement.
  • Sterile & Single-Use: Each cannula is individually packed and sterilized, ensuring maximum safety and preventing cross-contamination.
  • High-Quality Materials: Made from medical-grade, biocompatible materials for optimal performance and safety.
  • Color-Coded for Easy Identification: The 22G cannula features a blue hub, conforming to international standards for quick and accurate size identification.

How to Use:

  1. Prepare: Perform thorough hand hygiene and don appropriate personal protective equipment (e.g., gloves). Gather all necessary equipment including the Angiplast IV Cannula, tourniquet, antiseptic wipes, transparent dressing, and extension set if needed.
  2. Site Selection & Preparation: Select an appropriate venipuncture site. Apply a tourniquet proximal to the site. Cleanse the venipuncture site thoroughly with an antiseptic solution according to institutional protocol and allow it to air dry completely.
  3. Cannula Insertion: Remove the cannula from its sterile packaging. Inspect the cannula for any damage. Hold the cannula with the bevel up. Stabilize the vein below the insertion site. Puncture the skin and vein at an appropriate angle (usually 10-30 degrees).
  4. Advance & Withdraw: Once flashback of blood is observed in the flashback chamber, lower the angle of the cannula and advance it slightly further into the vein. Then, advance the flexible catheter over the needle into the vein, while simultaneously withdrawing the needle.
  5. Secure & Connect: Fully withdraw the needle and immediately activate the safety mechanism (if present) and dispose of it in a sharps container. Apply pressure to the vein proximal to the catheter tip. Connect the IV tubing or cap the cannula securely.
  6. Dressing: Secure the cannula with a transparent sterile dressing, ensuring the insertion site is visible and protected. Document the insertion date and time.

Caution & Warnings:

  • Sterile Technique: Always use aseptic technique during insertion to prevent infection.
  • Single-Use Only: This device is for single-use only. Do not resterilize or reuse. Reuse may lead to infection or device malfunction.
  • Inspect Before Use: Do not use if the package is opened, damaged, or expired.
  • Professional Use: To be used by trained healthcare professionals only.
  • Disposal: Dispose of used cannulas and needles safely in an approved sharps container immediately after use.
