How to Use

1. Verify the correct cannula size (26G) for the patient and procedure.
2. Perform hand hygiene and don appropriate personal protective equipment (e.g., gloves).
3. Prepare the insertion site using an antiseptic solution following sterile technique.
4. Apply a tourniquet proximal to the chosen venipuncture site to engorge the vein.
5. Stabilize the vein and insert the cannula, bevel up, at a shallow angle.
6. Observe for flashback of blood in the flashback chamber to confirm venous access.
7. Advance the catheter slightly, then withdraw the needle while simultaneously advancing the catheter fully into the vein.
8. Activate the safety mechanism of the needle and dispose of it immediately in a sharps container.
9. Secure the cannula with appropriate sterile dressing and tape.
10. Flush the cannula with saline to ensure patency, then connect infusion lines as needed.
