Mepore 9x10 cm Self-Adhesive Absorbent Dressing - Box of 50

Mepore is a highly conformable, self-adhesive absorbent dressing specifically designed for a wide range of low to moderately exuding wounds. Developed by Mölnlycke Health Care, a leading global medical solutions company, Mepore provides effective wound management with patient comfort in mind. Its unique design combines a breathable non-woven backing with a highly absorbent wound pad, ensuring optimal wound healing conditions while being gentle on the skin. The skin-friendly, water-based polyacrylate adhesive ensures secure fixation without causing trauma upon removal, making it an ideal choice for sensitive skin.

Benefits of Use

  • Gentle Adhesion: Features a skin-friendly, water-based adhesive that minimizes trauma during dressing changes and is suitable for delicate skin.
  • High Absorbency: The integrated absorbent pad efficiently manages low to moderate wound exudate, helping to maintain a moist wound environment conducive to healing.
  • Breathable Design: The non-woven backing is permeable to air and water vapor, which helps prevent maceration and promotes comfortable wear.
  • Conformable and Flexible: Designed to conform easily to body contours, ensuring comfort and secure adherence even on challenging areas.
  • Easy Application: Simple peel-and-apply design allows for quick and straightforward dressing changes.
  • Reduced Risk of Leakage: Secure adhesion and absorbent capacity help to prevent leakage and protect clothing.

How to Use

  1. Cleanse the wound thoroughly with an appropriate wound cleanser and dry the surrounding skin gently.
  2. Select a Mepore dressing of suitable size, ensuring that the absorbent pad fully covers the wound area.
  3. Peel back the protective release paper from the dressing, exposing the adhesive surface.
  4. Carefully apply the dressing to the wound, placing the absorbent pad directly over the wound. Ensure the adhesive adheres firmly to the healthy skin surrounding the wound.
  5. Smooth down the edges of the dressing to ensure secure fixation and prevent lifting.
  6. Change the dressing as indicated by clinical practice, healthcare professional advice, or when the absorbent pad becomes saturated, typically once daily.

Cautions & Warnings

  • Do not use Mepore dressings on deep, heavily bleeding, or clinically infected wounds without consulting a healthcare professional.
  • Discontinue use immediately if any signs of irritation, redness, maceration, or allergic reaction occur around the wound or surrounding skin.
  • Avoid stretching the dressing during application, as this may lead to skin tension, blistering, or reduced adhesion.
  • Mepore dressings are for single use only. Do not reuse to prevent cross-contamination and ensure sterility.
  • Store the product in a cool, dry place, protected from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures, to maintain its integrity.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Ingredients

Mepore dressings are constructed from a soft, elastic non-woven fabric backing (made of polyester and viscose) coated with a skin-friendly, water-based polyacrylate adhesive. The central absorbent pad consists of a non-woven material designed for effective exudate management.
