The Angiplast Suction Catheter FG 20-AS-02 is a sterile, single-use medical device designed for the efficient removal of respiratory secretions. It features a smooth, atraumatic tip for patient comfort and includes depth markers for accurate placement. Essential for maintaining clear airways, this catheter is widely used in healthcare settings.
The Angiplast Suction Catheter FG 20-AS-02 is an indispensable sterile, single-use medical device meticulously engineered for the efficient and safe removal of respiratory secretions from the trachea and bronchial tree.
Designed with patient comfort and safety as a priority, it features a smooth, frosted, and atraumatic open distal end, minimizing irritation during insertion and withdrawal.
Precision depth markers are strategically placed along the length of the catheter, enabling healthcare professionals to achieve accurate and controlled placement within the airway.
Essential for maintaining clear and patent airways, this catheter plays a critical role in preventing respiratory complications such as atelectasis and aspiration pneumonia.
It is widely utilized across various healthcare settings, including intensive care units, emergency departments, and during post-operative care, to facilitate optimal ventilation and oxygenation for patients requiring airway suctioning.

Benefits:

  • Ensures clear and patent airways, improving respiratory function.
  • Reduces the risk of aspiration pneumonia by effectively removing secretions.
  • Smooth, atraumatic tip minimizes patient discomfort and potential tissue damage.
  • Depth markers allow for precise and controlled catheter placement.
  • Sterile and single-use design prevents cross-contamination and infections.

How to Use:

  1. 1. Prepare all necessary equipment, including the suction catheter, suction apparatus, sterile gloves, and saline solution.
  2. 2. Perform hand hygiene and don sterile gloves.
  3. 3. Connect the catheter to the suction tubing.
  4. 4. Pre-oxygenate the patient if indicated, according to clinical protocol.
  5. 5. Gently insert the catheter into the patient's airway (e.g., through an endotracheal tube or tracheostomy) without applying suction, until resistance is met or the desired depth (using depth markers) is reached.
  6. 6. Apply intermittent suction by occluding the thumb port while slowly withdrawing the catheter with a rotating motion.
  7. 7. Limit the suctioning time to typically no more than 10-15 seconds per pass to prevent hypoxia.
  8. 8. Discard the catheter after a single use.

Caution & Warnings:

  • This device is for single use only. Do not re-sterilize or reuse.
  • Sterile unless package is opened or damaged. Inspect packaging before use.
  • Use with caution in patients with cardiac arrhythmias or severe respiratory distress.
  • Excessive or prolonged suctioning can lead to hypoxia, bronchospasm, or mucosal trauma.
  • Always follow institutional protocols and physician's orders for suctioning procedures.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Dispose of used catheters as per medical waste regulations.
