How to Use

1. Verify the patient's identity and prepare the venipuncture site according to standard medical protocols.
2. Attach the BD Vacutainer SST II Advance tube securely to the blood collection holder.
3. Perform venipuncture, ensuring proper needle placement and blood flow into the tube.
4. Allow the tube to fill to the designated volume, indicated by the fill line on the label.
5. After collection, gently remove the tube from the holder and immediately invert it 5-8 times to ensure thorough mixing of the clot activator with the blood. Do not shake vigorously.
6. Allow the tube to clot in an upright position at room temperature for a minimum of 30 minutes, but not longer than 2 hours, before centrifugation.
7. Centrifuge the tube following your laboratory's established protocol (typically 1000-1300 RCF for 10 minutes) to achieve optimal serum separation.
8. Carefully remove the serum for testing, ensuring not to disturb the gel barrier or the clot.
