How to Use
- Cleanse the wound and surrounding skin thoroughly according to clinical practice.
- Select a Mepitel dressing that extends at least 2 cm beyond the wound margins.
- Remove the protective release film from one side of the dressing.
- Apply the exposed adhesive side of Mepitel gently to the wound surface.
- Remove the remaining protective film and smooth the dressing over the wound, ensuring full contact.
- Apply a suitable secondary absorbent dressing (e.g., Mepilex, Mesorb) over Mepitel to manage exudate.
- Secure the secondary dressing with a fixation bandage or tape if necessary.
- Mepitel can be left in place for up to 14 days, depending on the wound condition and exudate levels.
Caution & Warnings
- Do not reuse the dressing. Mepitel is designed for single patient use only to prevent cross-contamination.
- Do not use if the sterile package is opened or damaged.
- Consult a healthcare professional for wounds with signs of infection or if symptoms worsen.
- Not indicated for use on full-thickness burns unless directed by a physician.
- Monitor the wound for signs of infection (e.g., redness, swelling, increased pain, pus).
- Ensure proper handling to avoid contamination of the dressing's wound contact surface.
