- Carefully clean and dry the skin thoroughly around the wound area.
- Peel one Steri-Strip from the card backing, avoiding touching the adhesive surface.
- Apply one end of the strip to one side of the wound, ensuring it adheres well to healthy skin.
- Gently bring the edges of the wound together using your fingers or forceps.
- Apply the other end of the strip across the wound, maintaining gentle tension to keep the wound edges approximated.
- Apply additional strips parallel to the first, spacing them approximately 2-3mm apart, until the wound is completely closed.
- Do not apply strips with excessive tension that could cause skin blanching or blistering.
- Change strips if they become loose or soiled, typically every 5-7 days, or as advised by a healthcare professional.
