How to Use (Post-Piercing Care)
- Leave the Studex Medical Earring in for a minimum of 6 weeks (for earlobes) or 12 weeks (for cartilage piercings) without removal to allow the piercing to fully heal.
- Cleanse the piercing area twice daily with a Studex After Piercing Lotion or an antiseptic solution, without removing the earring.
- Gently rotate the earring a few times each day during cleaning to prevent it from adhering to the skin.
- Avoid touching your new piercing with unwashed hands to prevent infection.
- After the initial healing period, you can change to other Studex Sensitive earrings, but continue to wear earrings at all times for the first 6 months to prevent the piercing from closing.
Caution & Warnings
- Do not remove the initial piercing earring prematurely, as this can lead to the piercing closing or infection.
- Consult a healthcare professional immediately if you experience excessive redness, swelling, pain, pus, or fever, as these may be signs of infection.
- Avoid exposing the new piercing to harsh chemicals, hairspray, perfumes, or swimming pools for the first few weeks.
- Ensure hands are thoroughly washed before touching the piercing or earring.
- Keep hair away from the new piercing as much as possible to prevent snagging and irritation.
