How to Use

1. Prepare the Patient: Explain the procedure to the patient and position them appropriately.
2. Select Site: Identify the appropriate arterial puncture site, commonly radial, brachial, or femoral artery.
3. Perform Aseptic Technique: Cleanse the puncture site thoroughly with an antiseptic solution and allow it to dry.
4. Prepare the Kit: Open the sterile kit, assemble the syringe and needle if separate, and ensure all components are ready.
5. Perform Puncture: Stabilize the artery and carefully insert the needle at the correct angle to puncture the artery.
6. Collect Sample: Allow the arterial blood to fill the pre-heparinized syringe, typically by arterial pressure. Ensure no air bubbles are present.
7. Withdraw Needle: Once the required volume (3ml) is collected, carefully withdraw the needle and immediately activate the safety mechanism.
8. Apply Pressure: Apply firm pressure to the puncture site for several minutes to prevent hematoma formation.
9. Mix Sample: Gently invert the syringe several times to ensure proper mixing of blood with heparin.
10. Cap and Label: Expel any residual air, cap the syringe, and label it accurately with patient information. Transport to the lab promptly.
