Product Description

The BD Vacutainer 24H Container Amber Sterile with Integrated Transfer Straw is an essential medical device designed for the safe and efficient collection of 24-hour urine samples. This 3-liter amber container is engineered to protect light-sensitive analytes, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of diagnostic results. Its sterile nature minimizes contamination risks, while the integrated transfer straw facilitates hygienic and easy transfer of urine specimens to smaller tubes for laboratory analysis, making it a reliable choice for healthcare professionals and patients alike.

Benefits of Use

  • Ensures accurate and contamination-free collection of 24-hour urine samples.
  • Amber material provides crucial protection for light-sensitive components in urine, preserving sample integrity.
  • Integrated transfer straw offers a safe and convenient method for transferring urine specimens, reducing spill risk and exposure.
  • Large 3L capacity is ideal for comprehensive 24-hour urine collection protocols.
  • Sterile packaging guarantees a clean collection environment, vital for reliable diagnostic testing.

How to Use

  1. Upon waking, empty your bladder completely and discard this first urine. Note the exact time. This marks the beginning of your 24-hour collection period.
  2. For the next 24 hours, collect all subsequent urine into the BD Vacutainer 24H Amber Sterile Container.
  3. Store the container in a cool place, preferably refrigerated, throughout the collection period to preserve the sample.
  4. Exactly 24 hours after the start time, empty your bladder one last time into the container. This completes the collection.
  5. Gently invert the container several times to mix the urine thoroughly.
  6. Using the integrated transfer straw, carefully transfer the urine into smaller, appropriate specimen tubes as instructed by your healthcare provider.
  7. Ensure all collected urine is submitted for testing as soon as possible, following laboratory guidelines.
